Today marks the anniversary of Edsel Bryant Ford’s passing on May 26, 1943, at the age of 49.
A son, husband, father, leader, and innovator, Edsel helped shape not only Ford Motor Company, but also the cultural landscape of Detroit through his vision, generosity, and commitment to community.
Alongside his wife, Eleanor Clay Ford, he supported institutions like the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Detroit Institute of Arts while raising their four children here at Ford House. His legacy continues to inspire the mission and stories shared across the estate today.
