Celebrating Pride Month

This Pride Month, we proudly celebrate the diversity, courage, creativity, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community. At The Global Embassy of Culture and the United States Presidential Service Center, we are especially grateful that many of our own family members are active participants in Shelby Pride, and that a number of our team members, volunteers, friends, and supporters are also engaged in Pride activities throughout the year.

We believe that culture thrives when every voice is welcomed, every story is respected, and every person is free to be their authentic self. Pride Month is a joyful reminder that friendship, understanding, inclusion, and love make our communities stronger.

As organizations dedicated to bringing people together across cultures, backgrounds, and traditions, we are honored to celebrate alongside our LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters. We look forward to continuing to learn, share, support, and build bridges of understanding—not only during Pride Month, but every day of the year.

Happy Pride Month from The Global Embassy of Culture and the United States Presidential Service Center! 🌈

What a truly gracious evening it was—one wrapped in candlelight, history, and the warm heartbeat of family. During the Christmas season, we had the honor of celebrating the **Titus family** with more than twenty guests gathered around a magnificent colonial dinner, complete with all the trimmings—period flavors, shared laughter, and that unmistakable feeling that history was seated right at the table.

Following dinner, guests enjoyed guided tours of the museum, where the Titus family themselves offered moving interpretations of the **Ishmael Titus painting**, bringing voice, memory, and meaning to the canvas, and recalling the historic Charlotte dinner that once drew nearly 300 attendees in a powerful act of remembrance and community. The evening also honored the rededication of the bronze plaque on the **Charlotte Walk of Fame**, conducted in partnership with the **Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture**, a moment that tied past to present and reminded everyone in attendance that legacy, when lovingly stewarded, never fades—it only grows richer with time.

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating Western Christmas on December 25 and Orthodox Christmas today, January 7 ✨

May these holy days—shared across calendars, cultures, and centuries—bring peace to your homes, warmth to your tables, and hope that refuses to be put back in the box with the ornaments. Different dates, same light. Different traditions, same love. 🎄🕊️

Wherever you are in the world, may this season remind us that unity doesn’t require uniformity—and joy travels just fine without a passport.

We have been working on prototypes of uniforms for the ARWLHC resort in upstate SC.
