Thank you to all who have shared, liked and commented on our Build the Gecko post, and a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have donated. For those of you who have inquired about online donations, we are working on it and will have a QR code for you shortly. Stay tuned. We expect the City of Gulfport to start work on the base structure within the next few days. Here's Ray's schematic showing all the details he has worked out. The finished gecko will be beautiful in purples, chartreuses and oranges.

The Gulfport City Council and Gulfport Merchants Chamber have unanimously approved my proposed photo-op, a fourteen foot gecko sculpture gliding down the beachfront on a skateboard, groovin' to the music of our local musicians through headphones. The sculpture will be be located on the concrete slab to the west of The Gulfport Casino. Gulfport City Council, in addition to building the base for the sculpture and providing the necessary electrical hook-ups, has generously donated half of the funds for this project. However, we are still in need of additional financial assistance and this is where you, the citizens of Gulfport and lovers of Gulfport, come in. WE NEED YOUR HELP. We are accepting donations at three fundraising stations, Beach Bazaar, Gulfport Realty and The Domingo Studio. LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN, GULFPORT!!!!
