Kam Capsules, also known as "Harlem Oil" was used as a diuretic stimulant for the kidneys. This package was distributed by Sanders Laboratories in Tecumseh, OK headed by Tom Sanders.

These tiny flowers now blooming in the Apothecary Garden are Callirhoe or, better known as the Buffalo Rose. Burned, crushed dried roots might have been inhaled for head colds and the roots boiled provided a tea to reduce pain.

Need a shave? At the OK Frontier Drugstore Museum, we have numerous "personal" items that have been used over many years. These razors are vintage and would have been used during the 19th Century to keep Grandpa's face perfectly shaved!

When you visit the Apothecary Garden in Guthrie, you'll love the Waterfall and Pond. We keep it filled with Lilly Pads, Goldfish, and other water friendly plants. The Garden is filled with medicinal plants, flowers and greenery, mostly native to Oklahoma.

Please plan to visit us soon. We're at the corner of Oklahoma Ave and 2nd Street in OK's First Capital and we welcome you! We are always in need of volunteers for the Apothecary Garden and the OK Frontier Drugstore Museum. A favorite in the OK Frontoer Drugstore Museum is the vintage Leech Jar. Leeches were stored here to be easily accessible. Leeches traditionally suck the blood of other animals and could be utilized for patients to increase circulation, to improve blood flow and to speed healing when applied to a wound.

See this beautiful jar when you visit us. We're located at 214 W. Oklahoma Ave in Guthrie and we promise there are currently no leeches in this jar!
