In cooperation with the National Museum of the Marine Corps and the Hackettstown Free Public Library, we invite you to register for a Zoom program Marines in the American Revolution. It will be held online only, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 6:00-7:00pm.

You must register in advance through the HFPL web page link below and will receive a Zoom link via email by the morning of the program. Once you get that link, please try to log on 5-10 minutes before the start of the program.

The United States Marine Corps celebrated its 250th Birthday on Nov. 10, 2025, and its Museum in Northern Virginia has a great array of displays both within the Museum and on the trails on the grounds of the Museum which document the history of the USMC.

Don't forget, it's tonight, May 5th, 2026 at 7pm!!!
Please join us, at the American Legion Hall, 494 Willow Grove St., Hackettstown for our last presentation before the Summer Break, in cooperation with the 27th New Jersey Volunteers, Company F.
Our speaker will be Civil War Reenactor and Educator, Jason Dilts, Lt. Col. Union Volunteer Brigade, Regimental Surgeon of the 27th NJ, who joins us once again to talk about the medical staff of the 27th New Jersey Regiment, as an overall study of how Regimental Medical Staff was organized, supplied and trained, as well as their responsibilities while in action.
Everyone is welcome, and the program is free for members, though we now request a voluntary $5 fee for non-members to help cover our speaker honorariums, etc.
There will be free beverages and snacks, and our Officers & Board Members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you there!

To all our friends and supporters. In conjunction with Greene's Beans Cafe we are offering a delicious Coffee, Tea & Hot Cocoa Fundraiser, starting April 6th. You can either order for pickup at the Museum on April 29, May 1, May 3 from 2-4PM. (We may schedule additional times to accommodate those unable to make those pickup times). You can also choose to donate a bag to the HHS in order to be used for door prizes, etc. Thank you all for your support!

The Museum will be closed today for the Easter Holiday. We reopen at the normal time of 2pm Wednesday. Don't forget our meeting on Tuesday the 7th at 7pm at the American Legion Hall!

Perhaps you thought that Black/African-Americans were a recent addition to Warren County, but you would be mistaken. The speaker for our second presentation of 2026 will be here to enlighten you to the fact that they've been a part of Warren County, both as Freedmen and those enslaved both here and elsewhere at the time (up until Dec. 1865, with the ratification of the 13th Amendment), dating back at least to 1777!

Please join us on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 7PM at the American Legion Hall, 494 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, to hear our speaker, Reverend Wayne Sherrer, talk about the African-American experience in Warren County.

Rev. Sherrer is a Historian and the Episcopalian Priest in charge of St. James Parish in Hackettstown as well as the author of "Phorgotten No More," which is the most complete record of the existence of Black people in Phillipsburg and the surrounding towns between 1777 to the present day, as well as their struggles, including the burgeoning Klan in the 1920's.

As always, free refreshments will be available, and our Officers & Board Members will be available to talk with, either before, or after the presentation. The program is free for Historical Society members, but we are now requesting a small $5 donation for non-members to help fund our speakers, the cost of whom have been increasing.
