DUE TO THE WEATHER FORECAST OUR FRIENDS AT THE WESTERN MARYLAND HOSPITAL CENTER have pulled the plug on their opening day 😢🚂

The “ G Scale “ garden trains will not be running on May the 23rd 2026 😢🚂

The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum will be in operation on the 23rd of May. Come see our two floors of model railroad layout surrounded by railroad antiques and photos from the various railroads that serve or have served Hagerstown Maryland 😊👍🚂❤️…

22 May 2026 jpeg 4286 Yard Boss, Skip Miller, announced that the Western Maryland Hospital Center Therapeutic Trains will not operate tomorrow, May 23, due to the anticipated weather. The forecast is for heavy rain starting in the morning and a high temperature of 55.

The next scheduled date for the operation is Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Conditions permitting, the trains will be operate every other Saturday throughout the summer, ending in September.

We look forward to sharing the experience with the hospital staff, patients, fellow gardeners, and the general public.

There is also an actual rail spur to the rear of the museum lined with actually engines , cabooses and railcars. Most of which saw action in Hagerstown during their time in service…

What makes the museum special however it’s its volunteers. Every Friday , Saturday & Sunday every weekend of the year our dedicated volunteers come out to staff the museum for your enjoyment …

If you are interested in volunteering at the museum please speak with the staff and the Gift Shop / Ticket Area at the main entrance and they will be delighted to get you signed up …

THE HAGERSTOWN ROUNDHOUSE MUSEUM located at 296 South Burhans Blvd. is open today ( Saturday March the 28th from 12:00 noon until 4:00pm ) 👍🚂😊❤️

Folks since about 1990 the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum has been a focal point for all that is the history of railroading in and around the Hub City 👍❤️😊🚂

The museum which is located in an original Western Maryland Railroad structure. The only Western Maryland Railroad structure left in Hagerstown that still serves a railroad related purpose 👍❤️😊🚂

The museum is comprised of two floors of tactfully displayed photos and railroad artifacts. The center areas of the museum hold various gauge model railroad layouts which are used to helping tell the story of railroading in and around the Hub City 👍❤️😊🚂

To the rear of the museum is our rail spur which holds locomotives , cabooses and railcars that can be toured. When docents are available each locomotive , caboose or railcar reveals a story of life on the railroad 👍❤️😊🚂.

On the first floor of the museum we have a nice sized gift shop where one can purchase wearing apparel , books , model trains and other railroad related items 👍❤️🚂😊.

ENTERING OUR FINAL WEEKEND 🚂🚂🚂

The Directors , Officers & Members of the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that came out for our 2025 / 2026 TRAINS of CHRISTMAS at the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum ❤️🙏😊🚂

You still have this one final weekend. The last weekend in February , the 27th and 28th to take advantage of The Trains of Christmas 🚂🚂🚂

Note: The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum will continue to be open every weekend from 12:00noon until 4:00pm every Friday , Saturday & Sunday , Spring , Summer & Fall 😊

If you cannot make it to this final weekend of The Trains of Christmas 25/26 we will be back again in late fall of 2026 😊
