Day 3 of Young Actors Camp at the Hammond Regional Arts Center was all about bringing ideas to life!

Our campers put the finishing touches on their masks, continued rehearsing and blocking scenes, and worked together to create their very own original play. From developing characters to exploring movement and storytelling, every activity helped build confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

We're so proud of the imagination and teamwork these young actors are bringing to the stage each day. We can't wait to see their hard work come together!

Day 2 at the Hammond Regional Arts Center Young Actors Camp was full of imagination, movement, and BIG creative energy!

Our young performers stepped into the world of theatre with an inspiring tour of the historic Columbia Theatre, getting a behind-the-scenes look at where the magic happens. Then it was back to the Arts Center to kick off rehearsals, running lines, and bringing stories to life on their feet!

The stage is set, the creativity is flowing, and this is just the beginning.

The Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow is seeking an original poster design for the 2027 event—one of the South’s premier airshows featuring world-class performers, including the Blue Angels!

🏅The winning artist will receive:
$1,000 cash prize
Two tickets to the Airshow
Two tickets to the October 17, 2026 fundraiser where the winning design will be revealed

✨Acceptable mediums include paint, ink, pencil, and digital artwork, but all artwork must be 100% original.

Day 1 of Young Actors Camp is in the books!

Our campers under the guidance of our theater teacher, Chad Winters, jumped right into the creative process. They got to know one another through theatre games, movement activities, and imaginative exercises. From warming up with a lively game of tag to brainstorming ideas for original characters and stories, the room was filled with energy and creativity.

Campers also explored how simple objects can be transformed through imagination, using sticks and their own bodies to create new forms and tell visual stories. To top it all off, they began creating masks that will help bring their characters to life as they continue developing their original performance throughout the week.

We can't wait to see where their imaginations take them next! 🌟

Healing begins, one color at a time.

The Giggles and Grace Therapeutic Art Camp, hosted by Empowering Kingdom Growth at the Hammond Regional Arts Center, is a unique experience designed exclusively for children navigating the difficult journey of grief.

Through creative art activities, guided therapeutic sessions, and a supportive environment, children will have the opportunity to express their feelings, connect with peers who understand, and explore healthy ways to process their emotions through art.

Calling all artists and artisans! We are looking for all sorts of functional art to stock our gallery during the Fine & Functional Exhibition from November 13 to December 17. We're looking for all sorts of mediums, including 2D art, 3D art, books and more! The Arts Center will handle the set up and the sales, we just need your art.
