🔥 Save Our Sanford! 🔥

The Hampton Historical Society and the Professional Firefighters & Fire Officers of Hampton L-2664 have joined forces to save Hampton’s first motorized fire pumper — the 1923 REO Sanford! 🚒

This effort will also honor Mark Ouellette, a proud Hampton Firefighter who championed the creation of the Hampton Fire Museum back in 1985.

We’re sending out this SOS to our community — we need your help to preserve this important piece of Hampton’s history. Plans are underway to add an addition to the Fire Museum to give the Sanford Pumper a safe and permanent home.

Stay tuned for updates on how you can get involved and help us keep Hampton’s fire service history alive! ❤️🔥

A Century of Firefighting History!
Did you know Hampton's original 1924 REO Pumper is still around today? 👀

Purchased in 1924 for $2,757.37, this engine served Hampton proudly until 1955, then went on to protect Hampton Falls for another decade. After its retirement, the pumper spent years on a local farm pumping water to the fields, before being lovingly restored, passed between caretakers, and rediscovered by the Professional Firefighters of Hampton (IAFF Local 2664) in 1996.

Thanks to generations of firefighters and friends, the REO remains part of our community - a living reminder of Hampton's proud firefighting heritage.

Today this nearly 100 year-old pumper is currently resting in the barn of a Hampton Falls firefighter, help us create it's new home at the Tuck Fire Museum. Follow our journey and how you can get involved!
