Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts

Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts Gallery and studio connecting art and community through classes, shows and events since 2008. Into vintage/artsy clothing?

The Bottlebrush Gallery's mission is to build and promote the local arts community. We sell work made by artists from within 50 miles of Harmony and also those originally from this area. The Gallery also hosts small group and private art classes for adults and children/youth, benefits and fundraisers. We are proud to donate performance space for local music recitals, public school senior art fina

l projects and group shows, and activities for local art students. While you’re in town, visit our vinyl shop “Last Dog Records" on the second floor with 4,000+ records of all genres, musical instruments, books, and collectibles. Check out Jo's Closet, also on the 2nd floor. Joanna finds the coolest, fun clothing and accessories, both vintage and new.

You're going to do great things in the world, B! May the light source be with you. 😄

Last night's Women's Creative Circle topic tried a different substrate in honor of International Tea Day, so we painted on tea bags. Good job, ladies! Also, check out the last photo of Cheryl helping the latest "lost truck driver" find his way out of Harmony square. Don't mess with Cheryl! 😄

We're always busy at the Bottlebrush Gallery. Beth Slagle hit it out of the ballpark again with a watercolor and ink class Wednesday night. If you've been thinking about taking a watercolor class, Beth's the best instructor. Even first time artists make some beautiful work. Thanks, Beth and helper extraordinaire Toni!

Thursday night I taught our Women's Creative Circle class at the Gallery on how to paint daisies on round canvases that were then made into refrigerator magnets. And I was thinking last night, every time I teach this class, it's like a little magic. The promise I put forward 14 years ago was, we will teach this project so you can paint it and be proud. It's a promise kept. Guest artists teach or I teach, and either way, we all have a good time.

The Bottlebrush has never been one of those fru-fru, take your shoes off, pretentious, speak in hushed tones places. I teach classes in the middle of the Gallery so students feel surrounded by the art and a part of the art. Art should be part of our daily lives, not some sacred, untouchable thing.

If there's anything I can take away from my time at the Gallery, it's the incredible satisfaction of this experience. Thank you all for being part of it. 🥰
