When the Harrisburg Chapter, NSDAR began a research project to identify American Revolutionary patriots buried in Dauphin County, they hoped to find 250 to commemorate America250. To our happy SURPRISE - theyโ€™ve identified over 600 people and are not done!

HSDC is proud to partner with DAR to showcase the results of their efforts in our exhibit

โ€œPatriots of Dauphin Countyโ€

at the John Harris Mansion, open and free to the public during our normal hours. Donโ€™t miss it - especially on the 4th of July this year.

Black Americans played a critical role in the war for our independence, yet many of their stories are not widely known.

We are pleased to share the story of one of these heroes as part of our America 250 celebration.

Next Sunday February 22nd come and meet Edward โ€œNedโ€ Hector, brought to life by Noah Lewis. We will learn about life as a revolutionary soldier and a man of color.

This is a free event, but please reserve your spot on EventBrite by clicking the link below.
