New World Woodcraft: "Vintage design with new world style." My vision is to create unique, hand-crafted decorative wood pieces that capture the quality and character of the past, while embracing the style and trends of the present. For my projects I use select pieces of domestic and exotic hardwoods such as walnut, curly maple, cherry, oak, padauk, zebrawood, bolivian rosewood, purpleheart, and m

any others. These are then placed into attractive combinations that accentuate the wood colors and grains. To maintain that sense of "rustic charm", knots and natural blemishes may be evident. Some projects are lightly distressed by hand to achieve that vintage look. I believe that this adds character and interest to a piece without detracting from the quality. Please feel free to contact me about any project you see on this page, or contact me with a custom idea or design of your choice.

Recently refinished this walnut dining room piece by removing the center drawers and installing a wine grid. Also replaced the 80s-fabulous brass hardware, and distressed the wood with a wire wheel for a rustic texture. Completed with Watco's Danish Oil finish in walnut.

A very tricky refinish of vintage Smith and Wesson display case inserts. These early 1970s inserts were in BAD shape. Now they are good again for years to come.

Happy New Year to everyone! I have been very busy of late but I hope to be back in the shop soon. I can still do simple projects such as refinishing gun boxes, and I plan to do some bird feeders this year as well.
