There are some exciting things coming up at our sister property deCordova! This year, Arias Aloft, their exciting collaboration with Circus 617 and Opera Untapped, is going "Chromatic," exploring the colors of the natural world — drawing audiences into a living landscape of music and movement and capturing the beauty of a New England summer.

So, head on down to deCordova on June 28 from 6-7:30PM to experience this magical summer spectacular! Check out their website for more details!

Posey Moulton lives and works on the coast of Maine, using "Ghost Gear," the reclaimed detritus of industrial fishing operations, to create other-worldly, larger-than-life sculptures. Her installation Second Wind, on view at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, is a response to the Great Marsh, inviting viewers to explore and connect with its coastal habitat.

Posey will be at Fruitlands on July 11 from 1-3PM, sharing her materials and her process with us! Join us and explore the use of recycled materials and create your own sculpture!

This weekend is your last chance to visit with the Fruitlands Fairies before they fly away for the next stop in their summer journey! (But don't worry, they promised us they'll be back again in the fall!)

Looking for more family-friendly ways to explore Fruitlands after the Fairies leave? We have our last Story Hour of the season coming up on June 26, and then the next morning we'll have our inaugural Chalk-a-Palooza!

We're back with our Third Thursday Trail Finds! Does anyone know what kind of tree this is, and why it's so special to find one?

Hint: It's featured in one of the artworks that's a part of The Land Tells Our Stories, our new state-wide exhibit featuring three outdoor sculptures and a Process Gallery here at Fruitlands!

While the grass around our museum buildings is mowed regularly, the Fruitlands property also has valuable meadows and wooded spaces that visitors are welcome to explore. However, anyone who wants to explore the grounds should be sure to check for ticks (which can transmit Lyme Disease) after visiting the reservation. Long-sleeve shirts and long pants recommended.

For more information about the trails, including a property map, please visit our website.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Artist Workshop! We had a a blast using natural materials and recycles paper to make paper-pulp leaves with May Babcock!

Our next workshop is on July 11 with Posey Moulton, who'll be guiding us through the process of using abandoned fishing gear to make hanging sculptures!

For more information about our Artist Workshop series, visit http://thetrustees.org/fruitlandsevents
