A Jeep, WC-4 truck, and 37 mm M3 anti-tank gun of the U.S. 811th Tank Destroyer Battalion at Camp Carson, Colorado, May 1, 1943. Before heading overseas, the unit trained across the rugged terrain of the Rockies, honing tactics to stop German armor.

The 37 mm M3 was America’s first dedicated anti-tank gun — effective early in the war but soon outclassed by heavier German tanks like the Panther and Tiger.

The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Havre de Grace during early foggy morning ..

Designed by Medal of Honor recipient Hershel "Woody" Williams. The term "Gold Star" refers to families who have lost a loved one (a spouse, child, sibling, or parent) during active military service. The monument acknowledges the significant sacrifice made by these families and allows the community to understand the price of freedom paid by them.
