🍯 Sweet News from the Family Tree! 🍯

We’ve got a sweet new product buzzing into the gallery — fresh, locally made honey!

But wait until you hear the story behind it…

This delicious honey is made by my cousin’s grandson and his wife at the Netz Farm in Iron River, Wisconsin. And it gets even better — Lexy is the niece of Lenora, our amazing Hayward gallery manager. Talk about keeping it all in the family!

Top it off, Lenora and I even had the honor of photographing their wedding. Now we’re proud to share something they’ve created with all of you.

There’s nothing quite like being woken up in the Northwoods by the haunting call of a Barred Owl —
“Who cooks for you, who cooks for you now?” 🦉

After 25 years living in the beautiful Chequamegon National Forest, moments like that still give me chills. It’s one of the many reasons I love being a wildlife photographer and calling northern Wisconsin near Cable home.

This is an image of a Barred Owl I captured a few years ago — now proudly framed and on display at our Downtown Hayward gallery.

And stay tuned… we’re putting the finishing touches on our upcoming wildlife and landscape photography workshop schedule, and we can’t wait to share it with you soon!

Spring is in the Air… and the Loons are Returning to Wisconsin! 🖤🤍

At James Netz Photography in Downtown Hayward, WI, we’re excited to share that we now have the full collection of our beautiful loon family back in the gallery.

Just two weeks ago, we received an extra-large carved loon—and it sold within just a few days! Today, we’re thrilled to welcome back another stunning hand-carved loon to our Nature Inspired Gifts collection.

People often ask how long it takes to create one of these works of art. Here’s a hint…
Our large loon takes over 5 hours just to paint and get every detail just right. That craftsmanship and care truly show in every piece.

🦅 A Majestic Start to the Morning Commute

On my way into the Downtown Hayward gallery this morning, I was greeted by this incredible sight — a beautiful bald eagle perched high in the pines, calmly watching the world wake up. Moments like this are a reminder of just how special it is to live and work here in the Northwoods.
As a wildlife photographer, these unexpected encounters never get old. Sometimes the best part of the day happens before you even reach the front door of the gallery.
If you love eagles and the wild beauty of our area, stop in and see us — we have several new eagle images on display along with many other wildlife and landscape prints.
Nature has a way of showing up when you least expect it.
