The Hazleton Art League had a wonderful gallery opening with artist Barbara Jones Friday evening. Jones works in pastel, which produces vibrant colors in a rich palette. Come to the Hayden Family Center for the Arts for her artist’s talk this Sunday, September 6 between 1 - 3pm. It’s free! Thanks to Theresa Evans from the Hazleton Area Garden Club for helping us raise money to tune the piano by raffling a beautiful floral arrangement. Thanks also to Billy Duffy for tickling the ivories (even though the piano needs to be tuned), and thanks to Evan Adams for helping us with the refreshments.

The Hazleton Art League mourns the passing of Yayoi Kusama, a true visionary whose art changed the way we see infinity, space, and ourselves.

“Forget yourself. Become one with eternity. Become part of your environment.” — Yayoi Kusama

Her dots, mirrors, pumpkins, and infinite worlds will continue to inspire generations of artists and art lovers. ✨

Thanks also to Maureen Brown-Fierro for putting this evening together and for PFN’s support of our 4th Annual Color the Course Golf Tournament, Friday, September 25. It was a busy day spent hanging the Hazleton Art League’s end of Summer Art Camp exhibition. Everyone helped, and the end result was proud parents and young artists enjoying beautiful art that they had created. Thanks to the wonderful teachers and aides who made this possible. We’ll see you next year!
