We are so proud to be the recipient of another $5000 grant from Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation earlier this year to fund our historic video series based on the Hellertown Walking Tour. Last evening we enjoyed a reception at the guitar factory in Nazareth hosted by Chris Martin IV and the Foundation Board for all the grantees. Pictured L to R are Vivian Demko who assisted in the production of our “Walking Tour” historical video series, and Don Mills, President of Hellertown Historical Society.

We would like to thank everyone who attended yesterday’s Heritage Day. We were blessed with beautiful weather, terrific participants who shared their historical expertise, two fantastic bands, beautiful vintage automobiles, and invaluable volunteers who gave their time to make the day a rousing success.

We believe we met our attendance expectations – not counting people directly involved with the event – of having more than 1,000 attendees between the two event sites.

We are learning more each year for improving future events. To that end, we welcome your feedback that will help us to improve next year’s Heritage Day for everyone involved: the public, our vendors and other participants, and our valued volunteers.

We would like the event to grow, and your input can be a major part of that growth.

Please consider taking a few moments to share your thoughts on the day. What did you enjoy, what could be improved, etc. All comments will be reviewed for future events.

Thank you again for your interest and support of our Annual Heritage Day.

Hellertown-Lower Saucon Heritage Day is officially underway. Opening ceremonies recently concluded with several dignitaries in attendance. The Americana Music Tent will soon come alive with the Big Valley Bluegrass Band from 12:30-2:00. Later at 3:30, America’s oldest civilian band, The Allentown Band founded in 1828, with take center stage to perform patriotic numbers and several Americans classics featuring soloists. There’s plenty to come see and do at Heritage Day both at the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill Park and the Michael Heller Homestead. The weather couldn’t be more perfect. There are activities for children and adults alike. Food vendors are here to satisfy anyone’s appetite. Lost Tavern Brewery also is offering adult beverages. Free horse drawn carriage rides are operating until 4:00. We will be here all day until 5:00.
