Sometimes the Unique Automotive masterpieces show up when you are least expecting them.

While watching Twisted Metal on Paramount, a post-apocalyptic series based on the video game, this pink beauty showed up almost instantly in the very first episode. When I think post-apocalyptic, a hearse isn’t the first vehicle that comes to mind, but I guess they’d be there along with all the other vehicles.

It is a decent series, but their attention to detail when it comes to all the vehicles seems a bit lacking. Cars and truck sometimes magically change makes and models between scenes, and after the explosion the hearse here seems to have lost its motor. Oops.

Enjoy!

Talk about Unique!

If you’re ever in the area of Hershey Pennsylvania, it’s worth the stop to swing by the AACA Museum, Inc. while you are there.

The AACA Museum always has Unique Automotive treasures and one of the more Unique vehicles is on display in the Tucker Gallery. This here is Tucker #1001. Yep, that’s correct, the very first Tucker produced. You know it’s Unique when there were only 50 produced total, and this is the first. Pure automotive history in person!

I do love all the “long roofed” cars for sure.
Station wagons are pretty far up there on the Unique Automotive want list.

This 1947 Mercury Woody is for sure one of best looking wagons I’ve seen in a long time. I had the chance a couple of Summers ago to really check this ol’ beast out while visiting Barry’s Car Barn in the middle of In*******se… In*******se Pennsylvania that is! Even the “build sheet” sounds impressive with White Ash Ribbing and Birch over Mahogany Paneling. Get out to Barry’s and check out all the Unique Automotive masterpieces on display there!

Enjoy!

One thing that we here at Unique Automotive just love to do is travel the road less traveled, you know, get off the beaten path.

One of the best benefits of traveling 90% non-interstate roads is that you never know what you might see, you literally never know. Today was a great example when we passed by this very Unique Pontiac sitting under the awning of a nice looking SHELL gas station. Yep, I’d drive it, anywhere!

Enjoy!

We attended the Professional Car Society’s Micro Meet today. It was an excellent day checking out a ton of Unique Automotive Toys.

One great thing about the PCS Micro Meet is that even though the show itself focuses on model and miniature professional cars, there are usually at least a couple of 1:1 professional cars that show up. This year, it was a treat to have two Pontiac service cars stop by.

A 1964 Superior that we saw a few years back in York was the first to stop by, and then an hour or so later Elsie: the Last Call service car (1953 Meteor) stopped by to say hello. I first saw Elsie last fall at the Rats-N-Reapers show in Hagerstown Maryland. It was definitely a great day for service cars!

Enjoy, I know I did!

Since we are currently in Frederick/Mt Airy Maryland for the Professional Car Society’s Micro Meet, let’s make our Unique Automotive feature a pair of models designed after a real ambulance.

Today we have Steve’s 1960 Flxible Buick that served the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co near Pittsburgh. This is a Unique enough ambulance that there have been several professional releases of it as well as a few very nice home built copies of it. Having seen the real car in person, these are all very great and accurate representations. I love them!

If you’re unaware, the Micro Meet is a car show for model and toy professional cars. Currently, the last few years, the show is being held at the Mt Airy Fireman’s Carnival Grounds social hall. It’s a great event that fills up the tables of the social hall fairly well. If you’re near, the event is Saturday March 14 starting around 10am, stop by.

Enjoy!

Traveling today, we arrived in Frederick Maryland to attend the Professional Car Society’s annual Micro Meet on Saturday. The Micro Meet is definitely a Unique Automotive event!

The new Unique Automotive chariot did well. With just under 600 miles accumulated over the trip, the van managed an impressive 19.7 mpg. I’ll take that!

So, Frederick, we are in you!
Let’s get this party started!

It’s 7:00am on Thursday and I’m heading out of the “day job” on a long weekend Unique Automotive adventure.

It’s the first trip for the new UA chariot. The beast just turned over 300 miles and we’re taking off toward Frederick Maryland. Let’s get going on this trip and see how it handles the open road. One downfall, I can’t easily take pictures of an empty vehicle when I’m heading out. 🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏻 I’ll keep y’all updated on our weekend adventures!

Enjoy!
