Bot and Milky are obviously best friends, when they hit the streets hard, they love wearing matching tees created by rjstuck.art. Unfortunately, we are experiencing technical difficulties in the manufacturing process, let’s just say, there’s still a few bugs, in my t-shirt painting process. Fortunately, I’m currently ironing out those bugs and T-shirts will be available for purchase soon. I think this last batch of shirts came out much better. I’m still fine-tuning the appropriate paint viscosity required for T-shirts, it’s still either too thick, or too thin.

Well, here we go again, act two, scene one. I don’t know about you, but I prefer my T-shirt art, extra thick and super gooey. I knew the screen printing ink was thick, but this is ridiculous. No problem moving forward, easy fix with some Curable Reducer mixed in. This T-shirt test was not a complete failure. My adhesion and durability concerns are gone, after heat curing the ink, the T-shirt art, now has the characteristics of a Van’s skateboarding shoe. I’m planning on attempting another shirt today, Let’s see how it goes.

I know what you’re thinking, more colored squares, don’t worry, I’m thinking the same thing. Unfortunately that’s all I have to offer right now. I did start making T-shirts, but the ink is so thick, It’s taking forever to dry and I was conned into putting up Christmas lights all weekend. You know what they say, Happy wife, happy life. Anyway, these paintings are available in my website store.

Colored Squares in Squares, a limited series. This item is one-of-a-kind. Each colored square is a combination of four separate colors. When viewed from a distance, the colors visually mix. When viewed up close, the four separate colors become obvious and you’ll notice the paint is textured, creating an ever-changing colored surface, depending on your viewing angle and light source. This abstract art was hand painted with colorful acrylic paints, precisely placed on a custom wrapped white canvas panel, mounted to a 1.5” flat black rear frame. The art can be hung in any direction, and grouped together for large applications. Framing is not required, art can be hung as is.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! This year I’m obviously making Christmas cards, who doesn’t love a combination of bright red, tree green, and gold, with just a splash of silver tinsel. I decided to use 6 colors, 2 reds, 2 greens, 1 gold and 1 silver. Each card has the same amount of color, but the placement of the lines are unique to each card. Unfortunately, I like some of the cards more than others. I guess the real question is, who do I send the good ones to? I think, I will blindly reach into a box and simply sn**ch one out, let the universe decide. The cards started to bend as the paint dried, I was planning on running them over with my car, but instead, I found these nifty cast iron doorstops to squash the cards flat. If you don’t receive a card, it’s probably because I’m using messenger pigeons and they’re just not as reliable as they used to be.

How does Rich do it Sunday. People frequently stop me in the street, and ask me, Rich how do you paint those black boxes around your art? It’s easy, I just use paint markers and a ruler, piece of cake. But Rich, what if you make a mistake, black marker on white canvas, that’s crazy? Well, unfortunately mistakes in most cases are irreversible, and the art is ruined, so I just throw it in the garbage can. But happy little accidents, can usually be scratched or scraped off with a razor blade. These black lined boxes are more difficult than they look, and stressful to apply, but if it was easy, I probably wouldn’t do it.

I know what you’re thinking, Rich, your journey to perfection is over, you’ve done it, congratulations. Well you’re not completely wrong, I’m definitely on a journey and it’s full of wonderful imperfections. But seriously, these are obviously, just T-shirts. My plan is to paint a colored square in the center, so I had these shirts screen printed to help me with alignment and proper adhesion, so the shirts will last more than a week. I guess, it’s a square, in a square, in a square, t-shirt. Thank God it’s hip to be square, and like the box says, these are the best tee shirts ever and we all know boxes never lie. The first batch of shirts will be available in my website art shop in about two weeks. Special thanks to terminus-tees they did a fantastic job, and I couldn’t be happier.

HAPPY BLACK CAT DAY!!!
Milky spends most of her day staring out the window and napping. She spends her nights running from window to window chasing after shadows in the dark. Usually around 5 AM she’s in your face meowing, looking for food, even though her bowl is full. If you don’t cater to her needs immediately, she bites, and then looks at you like you’re crazy. Besides all of that she’s a wonderful and loving cat.

If your seeing the sunrise reflecting off the ocean waves, you have successfully navigated this abstract art installation, great job. If you saw a Jersey cow, chewing the cud in Costco, that is incorrect. This is the second half of a art installation I did last week. Lucky for me, I was able to negotiate free eyeglasses for life, it doesn’t get any better than this.🤓

Here at rjstuck.art, we bring your project, from concept, to completion. This customer came to me and said, Rich can you help me, my waiting room looks like a morgue, it needs color desperately. At first I suggested painting all the walls fluorescent pink, after reading her nonverbal cues, I said, how about a bunch of colored squares, after a slight pause, she said, I love that idea, can you start immediately. What can I say another satisfied, customer🥳🥳🥳

If you were one of the lucky individuals, who receive a first generation T-shirt last year, it’s probably obvious by now, that the t-shirt attempt was a complete failure. Unless you immediately placed your T-shirt in to a hyperbaric chamber, the paint after two washes, started to fall off. I’d like to say, that it was part of the art experience, but I would be lying. Basically, as the acrylic paint dried, it became as hard as a rock, and fell off the shirt. After many weeks of reflection, and Google searches, I feel quite confident, that this next batch of T-shirts, will survive at least three washes, or possibly longer.
