Hey Friends, sorry for the long post but worth the read...
I know by now we are all aware of the devastation in Western NC as well as other areas. And, as many of you know, the mountains are my happy place. I am from Hillsborough NC but have always felt most at peace and true happiness amidst the trees and streams of Western NC. All those little towns are so special to me and so many others. I have been praying and racking my brain since it happened on how I can help. I plan to make a delivery somewhere sometime soon with certain supplies and physically be there but I am also trying to think of something more long term as this won't be over for quite a while. I want to use my craft and my faith for good so I've been thinking of how and today it hit me! A few years ago I made handmade wooden Christmas Ornaments with mountain scenes, animal prints, etc. and they were a hit (pictured below)! I want to make those again but with a twist. The front will be a mountain scene with or without a local NC town affected by Hurricane Helene and the back will have a Bible verse to remind us all that God is in control and while we don't understand why these things happen, there is a purpose. I will be donating 100% of the proceeds to most likely a local church in one of those small towns - TBD on that. They will be $10 each! I will post more as I get started but just wanted you all to know in case you wanted to order a specific design or town in NC that you love. I love seeing all the people helping each other because that is what love is about and the world sure needs more love.
