Come to the Hinckley summer band concerts in the Community Building Park. Our first concert is June 19 at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Fox Valley Brass Band. The 38 piece band will provide engaging brass music including show tunes, pop songs, and patriotic favorites. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and refreshments for enjoyable entertainment. The concerts are funded by grants from the Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation and Resource Bank.

The forecast calls for great weather for our free band concert Thursday June 27. Come to the Community Building park for our next summer band concert starting at 6 p.m. The Shade Tree Music Company has a wide repertoire of music for you to enjoy. Bring your lawn chair and refreshments for a enjoyable evening. The Historical Society wants to keep this tradition of bringing the community together during the summer.

The Poppy has long been a symbol for those who gave their ultimate devotion to preserving our national freedoms. This Memorial Day, May 27, come to the memorial service at the Community Building starting at 9:30. You can also visit the Hinckley Historical Society museum after the service to view the veterans' wall of honor for those who served their country.

Thank you for your interest and involvement with the Hinckley Historical Society. Please consider participating in Give DeKalb County Day on May 2 and helping HHS reach our goal of $10,000. This is our major fundraiser and necessary to continue our programming, operation of the museum and efforts to preserve the history of our area. Todd Fancsali (left) has been in law enforcement for nearly 30 years with service in Aurora, Montgomery, Kane County Sheriff's Department, and the Fox Valley Park District.
