We had a great October at the Museum--lots of school and community groups, field trips, high schoolers who choose to spend their community caring volunteer day helping us, homeschool group visits, and outreach programs. Lyndell gave a talk at Victoria Mansion on Cabinets of Curiosities, as part of their evening speaker series, and we were excited to host John Meader of Northern Stars Planetarium for a day of all things astronomy and dark skies!

Jordan Chalfant, co-leader of the Seaweeds of Maine project, is delighted to teach a seaweed pressing workshop with artist Anneli Skaar, taking place July 6–10 at Maine Media in Rockport, Maine. Participants will explore Rockport’s scenic shores while collecting seaweed specimens. Jordan will demonstrate pressing techniques, preservation methods, and herbarium management. Students will create bound folios featuring their own pressed seaweeds and beautiful hand-marbled covers.
