Join us for an evening dedicated to recognizing outstanding individuals whose impact on athletics and our community continues to be felt for generations.

We are proud to honor Bob Dahlgren, who devoted thirty-two years to coaching and mentoring student-athletes. Throughout his career, Bob not only built successful programs but helped shape the character, discipline, and achievements of countless students, leaving a lasting legacy in our community.

We will also recognize Lance Thorell, a 2007 graduate of Loomis, whose exceptional athletic ability made him a three-sport standout. Dominating in football, track, and basketball, Lance exemplified excellence and competitiveness across every arena.

Taylor Meier, a 2009 graduate of Bertrand, will also be honored for her remarkable accomplishments in track and field. A state champion and gold medalist, she holds more first-place finishes than any female athlete in the county’s history, setting a standard of achievement that continues to inspire.

These individuals will be inducted into the Sports Wall of Honor in recognition of their accomplishments and lasting contributions.

As part of the evening, we will also unveil a new exhibit honoring the Optimist Club and their enduring support of youth athletics in our area.

The event will take place on June 19th, with a free-will dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by the program. All are welcome to attend as we celebrate these individuals and the spirit of community athletics.

Join us for a special evening as we honor the Optimist Club with the ribbon cutting of a new exhibit dedicated to their lasting impact on youth athletics in our community.

This exhibit tells the story of the Optimist Club’s commitment to supporting young athletes, highlighting the programs, opportunities, and encouragement they have provided over the years. Through their efforts, countless youth have been able to participate, grow, and succeed in sports, and this exhibit is a tribute to that legacy. The evening will include an unveiling of the exhibit along with special recognition of those who helped make a difference in the lives of area youth.

We will be unveiling this new exhibit as a part of our annual Sports Wall of Honor program that will take place on June 19th, with a free-will dinner open to the public beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by the main program. In addition to the exhibit unveiling, we will induct three individuals into the Sports Wall of Honor: Taylor Meier, Lance Thorell, and Bob Dahlgren.

Storm Rolling In

We had such a wonderful time at Saturday’s Introductory Quilt Workshop! Participants learned the basics of quilting from our talented expert quilters and got hands-on experience every step of the way.

From choosing fabrics to stitching it all together, everyone walked away with their very own mini-quilt and plenty of new skills and inspiration! A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special!

Join us on June 19th for our annual Phelps County Sports Wall of Honor Ceremony as we induct Taylor Meier.

Graduating from Bertrand in 2009; A state champion and gold medalist in track she has the most of any first place awards than any female athlete in the county's history.

Come honor Taylor on June 19th as we induct her and two others from Phelps County. Free will diner served at 5pm with ceremony to follow.
