Calling All Giant Pumpkin Growers!

Do you have what it takes to grow Nebraska's Largest Pumpkin of 2026?

The Nebraska Prairie Museum is proud to host the Annual Nebraska's Largest Pumpkin Competition on Saturday, September 26, 2026 as part of our Fall Festival. We are an official Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) sanctioned weigh-off site, giving growers the opportunity to compete at a recognized weigh-off location.

🏆 Prize Money:
1st Place: $3,000 and the title of Nebraska's Largest Pumpkin of 2026
2nd Place: $1,000
3rd Place: $500

Youth Growers Division Young growers ages 16 and under are encouraged to participate and showcase their hard work.

Before attending, all growers should review the official GPC rules and competition information: https://gpc1.org/about/rules/

Important Grower Information To help the weigh-off run smoothly, growers should plan to:
Arrive early for registration and unloading
Remain on-site throughout the weigh-off
Review all rules and requirements prior to the event

Tag a grower who needs to see this and help us spread the word!

Thanks to everyone who joined us Tuesday night for our August Prairie Program!

We had a great crowd attend to hear from Dr. Steve Holen, whose fascinating presentation gave attendees plenty to think about and discuss afterward. We're grateful that Dr. Holen took the time to share his knowledge and expertise with our community.

Events like our Prairie Programs are a wonderful opportunity to learn something new, connect with others, and explore the stories that shape our region.
