The Toledo Festival of the Arts is taking place this weekend at Toledo Botanical Garden. The free event is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists tents and food trucks will be on the Bancroft Street side, with plein air painters throughout the garden. The Artists' Village will be open both days.
The only parking for the event will be at the Meijer store on Central Avenue. TARTA will have an ADA accessible shuttle running throughout the day for $3 round trip.

The community is invited to the 21st annual Freedom Celebration tomorrow, June 27 at Community Homecoming Park, The event will feature a Firecracker 5K run, family activities, Hero hustle dinosaur race, food trucks, concerts and fireworks at dusk. Admission and parking are free. The day kicks off with the 5K run at 9 a.m. followed by musical performances beginning at 2:30 p.m. and family activities from 5 to 10 p.m..

I-475 southbound between U.S. Route 24 and State Route 25 will be fully closed again beginning tonight and through the weekend to continue resurfacing and pavement work.
Southbound I-475 will close south of U.S. Route 24 at 8 p.m. this evening and remain closed until 6 a.m., Monday, June 29. Traffic will be detoured using I-475 northbound to I-75.
This is the fourth and final in a series of full closures of southbound I-475 for pavement joint repair and paving that have occurred over multiple weekends which began in May.
The southbound/eastbound on-ramp from State Route 25/Dixie Highway to I-75 north and south will be open this weekend. The following ramps will close this evening and reopen Monday morning: southbound I-475 on-ramp from Dussel Drive/Salisbury Road; southbound I-475 on-ramp from U.S. Route 20A, and aouthbound I-475 on-ramp from U.S. Route 24
Message boards are posted south of each interchange throughout the I-475/U.S. 23 corridor informing motorists of this event.
A full weekend closure for bridge repairs on Salisbury/Dussel over I-475 will be scheduled as part of this project contract; dates to be determined and will not overlap interstate closures.
Full closures of I-475 northbound will occur once a bridge on State Route 795 over I-75 -- currently closed for a deck replacement–reopens next month.
Repairs are part of a project that entails resurfacing I-75 and I-475 near the Perrysburg interchange in Wood County, and I-475 from I-75 to the Maumee River.

The museum is accepting items for its military room. If you have old photos of family members who served, old uniforms or memorabilia that you would like to donate or loan for the America 250 exhibit, feel free to drop them off. The museum is open tomorrow, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or next Thursday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We also are seeking railroad photographs or memorabilia such as photographs of the old rail station and past train derailments.

The Holland historical museum is open to the public, today, June 20 from 11 am to 3 pm. Admission is free. We are seeking military memorabilia and photos of residents who served in one the branches of the armed services for our America 250 display in our military room.
Coming in July, artifacts from a vault placed in the ground in 1976. Stay tuned...

Norfolk Southern Railroad is making repairs to the crossing on
Holland-Sylvania Road between Airport Highway and Angola Road. To effect repairs, Holland-Sylvania is closed to through traffic between Airport (S.R.2) and Angola for seven days beginning today, June 17. The closure period is dependent upon weather, train traffic, and the railroad schedule. The detour route will be Airport to Reynolds Road to Angola.
