Wistariahurst Museum is celebrating Pride month during a special Sensory Friendly Sunday Funday on June 28th from 12:00-3:00 pm.

This year, we are welcoming back Serenity Lockhart for a family-friendly Drag Storytime and performance! Holyoke residents may recognize Serenity from her many amazing performances at Fame Eatery/Lounge, and we're excited to welcome her back to Wistariahurst. Guests can also enjoy Pride-themed educational crafts. Visitors will also be able to interact with fun historical activities based around Wistariahurst.

This event will foster understanding and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Wistariahurst Museum and Genuine Culture are getting ready for our annual Juneteenth event, Celebrate Juneteenth! Visit the gardens at Wistariahurst Friday, June 19th, from 12:00-3:00pm for an afternoon of celebration and remembrance.

This event will feature music from DJ Pzo Pete and Voices of Praise, food from Thai Food Place and Souper Sweet, drinks from White Lion Brewing Co. and so much more! Kids and families can enjoy art projects, presentations, and yard games. There will also be local vendors and organizations tabling at the event.

Join us at Wistariahurst Museum for a relaxed tabletop gaming event on Tuesday, May 26th from 4:00-8:00pm. Tabletop Tuesday is for players of all kinds! Bring your favorite games from home or jump into one of the tabletop games that we will have available for guests to enjoy. Whether you’re into Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, classic board games, or something new, there’s a set for you at our tables. Bring your friends for a gaming session, or play, learn, and connect all at your own pace.

Want guidance in learning a new game? A staff member will be present to host a featured game.

Entry to Tabletop Tuesday is donation-based, starting at just $1 per person. Every additional amount that guests donate supports the museum’s programming. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

Come down to Wistariahurst Museum to explore local history, engage in sensory-friendly fun activities, and discover new ways to have fun!

The next Sensory Friendly Sunday Funday is this Sunday, May 24th from 12-3PM!

Discover the wonders of the first floor at Wistariahurst Museum and explore each captivating room, beginning with the elegant marble lobby and continuing to the enchanting music room, all while utilizing our informative guide pamphlets in English and Spanish. Throughout the first floor, guests of all ages can interact with activities curated with our friends with sensory sensitivities in mind. Our music room will be filled with fun gross motor activities like hula hoops, hopscotch, and bounce balls that will get everyone hopping, moving, and excited. Throughout the first floor, children will be able to interact with fine motor activities, puzzles, and board games to engage with and enjoy.

The Holyoke Arts League has held art exhibits annually at Wistariahurst’s gallery for years, and we are excited for their next exhibit opening Monday, June 1st, 4:30-6:30pm! This juried exhibit displays work ranging from paintings and sculpture to woodworking and sketchbooks. Members of the art league and non-members alike participate in this exhibit. Going... going... almost gone! The gorgeous wisteria adorning the museum is past its prime and has begun to die off for the season. Come visit the Wistariahurst gardens before these blooms are fully gone for the season. Our gardens are open dawn to dusk every day.
