When Robert and Fran Mitchell closed their business, Mitchell Hardware, a few years ago, they gave us an antique Re*****on bookkeeping machine. If anyone knows who might know more about this machine and how it was used, please let us know.

We just had a visitor who retired from the Miami-Dade Fire Department. He was very interested in our 1924 American LaFrance fire truck and said he would reach out to some of his colleagues who might know who painted it and who has the title to it. If anyone here knows more about the truck (I've spoken to Charlie Heweker, who sold the truck to someone here), we surely would appreciate your sharing your information.

We are badly in need of a working laptop computer so that our volunteers can create Excel spreadsheets of delinquent tax lists and voter registration lists, among other projects. If you have one that you would be willing to donate, we'd surely appreciate it!

Our director found this in the parking lot in the back of the museum today. It is a cut nail, most likely from a piece of Dade County pine, judging by the corrosion. It did not come from masonry construction, that is certain!

On Saturday, November 12, the Dade Heritage Trust celebrated its 50th birthday with a party at Anderson's Corner. The building has been purchased by a Miami developer who has a passion for history. There was a bluegrass band, catered food and drinks, goats for the kids to pet, chickens to look at and ponies for the kids to ride. Inside the building were 12 panels with text and photos about the history of the area for people to read and look at. The developer does not have any firm plans for the building at this time, as he is looking for community input. The priority right now is to stabilize the building. Dade Heritage Trust has assured me that Anderson's Corner will not become a tourist stop, though.
