A monumental 19th-century Family Bible, richly gilded and bound in heavy leather with oversized brass clasps. The cover is deeply sculpted with dramatic recessed panels, giving it the presence of carved architecture. Nearly 1800 illustrations fill its pages—engraved and chromolithographed scenes of Biblical history, natural wonders, and sacred geography. Lavish pages glow with gold, crimson, and intricate ornament. A heavy metal cross is tucked inside.

I love moriage, the Japanese technique of raised relief painting with oyster shell. This is a 6-panel Japanese folding screen that I brought out to show today. (That's one of the fun aspects of byobu - they are each hidden gems) The surface of this fence looks like 3D gold and silver maki-e lacquer . This piece literally brightens any room!

In 1976, we started as a quaint antique shop on the Big Island. Today, we’ve grown to become one of the largest and finest art and antique galleries in Hawaii. Our founder, Robyn Buntin, founded the gallery with the intention to reflect Hawaii’s unique character with Asian and Polynesian artwork -- from handcrafted pieces to prints and paintings, you’ll always find something that’s timeless and valuable.
