We’re very excited that Hornell Erie Depot Museum will be a stopping point on the Union Pacific “Big Boy” Locomotive #4014 cross country trip on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 2:00 to 2:30 pm. However, we are only a stopping point, and are not connected to any of Union Pacific’s plans for this historic event.

The Museum does not have any tickets or special observation areas, and the Hornell Erie Depot Museum is not holding any special events this day. We will, however, open the Museum from 10:00 am until 1:45 pm, and again for an hour after the “Big Boy” departs, to allow those interested to visit the Museum. There is no charge for admission.

Please note that the parking lot next to the Museum will be closed to vehicles, so that it is available for people to view the “Big Boy”.
