I will be teaching the Arkansas Concealed Carry Class on Sunday, June 7 at 1 PM and then continuing on to teach the Enhanced Class at 4 PM. Cost is $60 each or $100 if you take both classes back to back.

We will start at 1 PM at my house, 156 Davidson Drive, Hot Springs, AR 71901 with the Concealed Carry Class lecture. At about 3:30 PM we will leave and drive to the MVSA Action Shooting Range and arrive at about 4 PM. See www.mvsaonline.com for directions.

At 4 PM any desiring to take the Enhanced Class can meet us at the Range. We will conduct the shooting portion together and when done I will complete the paperwork for the Concealed Carry Class and those folks can go home. For those staying for the Enhanced Class we will return to my house and I will conduct the Enhanced Concealed Carry Class lecture portion. This will wrap up around 9 PM.

We will shoot the Enhanced CHCL Course of fire which is a timed 50 shot course of fire. I will provide some basic pistol marksmanship instruction as needed. I can provide a firearm and ammo if needed, just pay for the ammo, $25/100. I can bring some eye and ear protection as well, but bring your own if you can.

SAFETY FIRST.

Your gun should be either in a bag/case unloaded, or holstered on your body. If holstered it can be loaded. Just don’t pull it out until told to do so. Keep it in your gun bag/case or holstered. DO NOT remove your firearm until instructed to do so. Treat all fi****ms as if they are loaded, even if you think it is not. That means you don’t pull it out and point it at me, yourself or anyone else. If you violate the safety rules you will immediately fail the course with no refund of your fee. I will go over firearm safety in further detail at the Range before we shoot.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend so I can keep up with how many folks I will have. Class size will be limited to about 8 people and I have 3 already.

There are still some among us who are so naïve they believe the system will somehow protect them. One of the hardest things for a lot of modern people to accept and internalize is the fact that no one is coming to save you and that you alone are responsible for your safety and security.

Here is a perfect example. Gary Ridgway was convicted as the “Green River Killer”, one of the most prolific serial murderers in US history. When captured, to avoid the death penalty, he agreed to lead authorities to many unrecovered bodies of his victims. He was convicted of 49 (yes, 49) murders and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Last week a committee voted 5/4 against releasing him from prison so he wouldn’t be at risk to catch the Corona virus.

There is no doubt that he killed more than 49 people and he likely would re-offend if released. Only one vote kept him from being released. The people who voted to release him don’t give a rat’s ass about you.
