Over the last week there have been many tributes to our veterans and the service they have done for our country. I have had the opportunity to see helicopters land at a high school football game, escorting veterans in our community out on to the field to be honored. I have seen elementary school hallways lined with pictures and tributes to family members, young and old, some still here and some that have moved on to a better place, that have served our country. Our country has always, and will continue to depend on our armed service men and women. These amazing people, give up their time to protect the freedoms that we too often take for granted. I came across the story of a WWI veteran who told the recruiters he was older than he really was, just so he could go fight for our country. How many 16 year-olds would give up days of milkshakes and school dances to go off to war? This brought me to an interesting page on Wikipedia that listed the last WWI vet to survive by country:

This was a really interesting piece we did for a company's lobby. Each of the nine pieces is a small wrapped canvas that is floated/ elevated within each area of the frame. I was thinking a cool way to change it up for a home would be to replace the "art" with images of your kids. But not just normal images...interesting close up studies of your kids. Baby feet are adorable close up, so are kids hands. What about a close up of an outfit that really "speaks" of them. My daughter had one we called "the outfit" that she wanted to wear EVERYDAY, and putting a close up of her wearing that on one of the squares would be perfect. Tell me what other close up pictures of your kids would look good in a framed "study" about them...
