Burning Bones Press is proud to announce that three of our members have recently taken on new leadership roles in Houston’s art and printmaking communities: Liv Johnson, Patrick Masterson, and Erin Miller!

• Liv Johnson has been appointed Associate Dean of the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Liv M. Johnson

• Patrick Masterson is now Professor of Practice in Printmaking at Rice University, where he works in the Karin Broker Print Room in Sarofim Hall. Patrick Masterson

• Erin Miller is Professor of Practice and Area Coordinator of Printmaking at the University of Houston. Erin Miller

It’s both unusual and incredibly exciting to see three members of the same printmaking studio take on leadership roles in Houston’s art world. These talented artists and printmakers are helping to educate and inspire the next generation while keeping the art of printmaking alive and thriving.

We wish Liv, Patrick, and Erin all the best in their new positions. We’re proud to have them as part of Burning Bones Press and grateful for the ways they continue to spread the gospel of print!

Down to the Bones: Grit, Soul and Ink
A Burning Bones Press Member Exhibition

Burning Bones Press presents a group exhibition featuring artists from its Houston printmaking community at Aether Gallery at Sawyer Yards.

The exhibition celebrates the diversity, experimentation, and handmade spirit of contemporary printmaking, featuring screen prints, relief prints, monoprints, collage, and more.

Opening Reception: September 12, 12–4 PM
On View: September 12–November 30, 2026
Location: Aether Gallery at Sawyer Yards, Houston, Texas Aether Space

Light bites and boozy cocktails will be served at the opening reception.

Calling all beginners! Carve it up this summer with Intro To Relief and Mono Printing At Home on Saturday, June 13. Join expert carver Amber Kaiser as she walks you through the process and equipment as well as various relief and mono printing techniques. She will show you how to transfer images, carve and print. Beginner friendly, all skill levels invited! Take home 5 handmade prints. All materials included.
