Step back in time to the early 1900โ€™s and enjoy an afternoon tea on the porch of the Thompson House Museum. Our teas will be in the style of an English Tea service including scones, finger sandwiches, desserts, and our special Thompson Tea.

โ€ข The teas will be held on Saturday July 18th and Saturday August 15th at 1:00 p.m.
โ€ข The price is $25.00 per person. Tours will be provided for a special discounted rate for attendees of $5.00 additional.

Today is Louise Thompson's birthday! Louise Allen Thompson was born on this day in 1884. To celebrate here are some pictures of Louise throughout her life.

Louise was mother to Bill and Ed Thompson and the second generation of the Thompson family to live in the now Thompson House Museum. She graduated from the Music Conservatory in Ann Arbor and her Hardman piano is still present in the Thompson House Museum.

Due to Museum Renovations, the Thompson Museum will be closed for tours until Monday, February 16th.

The Thompson Museum Visitor Center will still be open during renovations starting next Monday, February 2nd @ 12:30pm.

Happy New Year! As a reminder, the Thompson Museum is closed in January.

The Museum reopens in February and is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30-3:30pm.

The Thompson House Museum and Gardens Board members and staff would like to wish everyone joyous and safe holidays. The hours at the museum during the holidays will be as follows: Open Monday, December 22, 2025, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, December 23, 24, 25, 2025.
Open Monday, December 29, 2025, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Closed Wednesday, December 31, 2025 and Thursday, Friday, January 1, 2, 2026.
