The Main Focus of the Hummelstown Historical Society at the moment is a "Community Campaign for the Future of the Parish House." Our goal is to preserve the 1815 Parish House, which is the flagship building of the Hummelstown Historical Society. The building was just recently purchased by the Historical Society and we are in the process of raising funds for its purchase and preservation. Rosanna a

nd North Alley (no street number) in Hummelstown, PA 17036. In addition to having an excellent collection of general artifacts of the Hummelstown area from the 1700's, the museum contains an extensive arrowhead collection. The library was originally Alberta Imboden's candy store. Currently, two floors of the building are utilized for genealogy research and offices for the Society.

Edward Stover Farmstead Two Seater

Ready for Flag Day 250 Celebration!!!

Come join the society ,Sunday 6/14/26 2-5pm, for a grand old time!

HAHS board deliberated for quite a while over a historical interactive outhouse experience. The opportunity to share a squat in a historic two seater is not taken lightly by our historical society officers. After thoughtful consideration, and a list of possible complications, we regret we will opt for porta potties for the day’s celebrations.

However this will still be a great place for pictures, and sharing stories of splinters, spiders, snakes and corn husks.🌽

Looking forward to seeing you!

P.S.
Potty humor in honor of Bradley Miller and Christopher Zserai

Hummelstown Area Historical Society Celebrates the 250th
As part of the Hummelstown Area Historical Society’s efforts to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, the May General Meeting highlights the American flag as presented in the Show at the Parish House entitled “Ol’ Glory.”

Please join us at 7pm at the Parish House on May 18, 2026 when Wade Seibert will discuss the forty flags and banners that are displayed from the Society’s collection as well as flags loaned by Society members.

The American Flag is an iconic symbol of our country’s extraordinary history. The oldest flag in the Show is the Centennial flag of 1876. Another memorable flag in the display was flown during the Spanish-American War. Flags that were draped on caskets of Hummelstown Area soldiers killed in military action are honorably displayed on the Parish House altar. Replicas of flags flown during the Revolution and Civil War hang from the loft of the third floor.

Save the date to attend the Society’s celebration of America’s Anniversary on Flag Day, June 14, 2026 from 2pm to 5pm to enjoy food, music and patriotic entertainment.
