A truly remarkable young visionary with a passion for art and a deep love for nature, Calista finds the beauty in everything she sees. She has been painting and drawing for as long as we can remember and has honed her craft over the years, constantly seeking to improve and challenge herself.

Calista is particularly inspired by the beauty of the natural world, and her paintings reflect her deep appreciation for the wonders of the outdoors. Whether on a walk with Clover, scrolling through Instagram, or on a car ride through North Carolina's rolling hills, Calista finds the beauty in it all.

Aside from her art, Calista is also a devoted dog lover, and spends a lot of her time playing with and caring for our furry family member and token pup, Clover. She has an intuitive and gentle way with animals, and loves to incorporate them into her paintings, showcasing their beauty and unique personalities. I’m saying yes to beauty first. and then settling down to my new work week.

I’m thankful for the bounty of what’s outdoors and all around me. I’m reminding myself that I can’t create something beautiful in my work (this sits on my office desk), by starving myself from beauty until it’s complete.

Nope.

It’s not optional. Beauty must be elevated through every step of the process and journey. And saying yes to beauty IS my work, my responsibility, my privilege.

That way I can reap its benefits in the future as well.

While I'm a full-time business owner and artist, I always make time for the activities and people that bring me joy. My travels, children, friends, and family fill me to the brim with happiness & inspiration (just like the mug paintings in our Sweet Sippin' collection!).

Today, is Day 31, the final day of March Artness.

Today, we bring the circle to a close. March Artness has been a time of fun, adventure, and reflection on the story behind many of my most treasured artworks.

The last artwork of March Artness is Circle of Life. This beauty captures the Oregon coast in linear-fashion. Black & white come together to create hints of grey. When creating this masterpiece, I related it back to the circle of life, in the manner that it simply is not the black and white we so commonly see it as, but filled with pockets of gray.
