The Chamber Junior Golf Tournament was a great success today, drawing kids from all over Carroll County to take part at the beautiful Carroll Lake Golf Course.

We look forward to honoring and remembering our heroes together in a safe and comfortable setting. The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting today for Rural Health Association of Tennessee, Inc., located at 159 Court Square, Huntingdon. They will provide a food pantry, a maternal health program, and a rural community opioid response program for members.

The Amazing Shake is a dynamic and exciting live competition that rallies leaders and role models in a school’s community together to teach students about professional skills for success.

This program is part of Huntingdon Middle School’s participation in the House Leadership System developed by the Ron Clark Academy. This program places an emphasis on teaching students manners, discipline, respect, and how to conduct themselves in a professional environment. This first annual program at HMS puts the students to the test on these skills through a fun and memorable experience and enables them to engage with local business leaders on behalf of the school. The competition also introduces the students to the networks, roles, opportunities, and career paths that they may not have been exposed to before.

During the Amazing Shake, students learn and develop professional qualities — from the mechanics of a proper handshake to how to “work the room” — so that they are able to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today and in the future.
