Behind every unforgettable summer camp experience is a team pouring their hearts into making the magic happen.

This week, our Out-of-this-World Cosmosphere Education Team, along with our summer camp directors and camp counselors, has been hard at work training, preparing activities, practicing safety procedures, laughing together, and getting ready to welcome hundreds of campers to the Cosmosphere this summer.

From coding robots and building settlements to running missions and making lifelong memories, we cannot wait to see our campers fill our space with curiosity, creativity, and excitement in the weeks ahead.

Summer at the Cosmosphere is almost ready for liftoff, and our team is prepared to make it the best one yet. 🚀🪐

🌻 The future of lunar exploration is being built right here in Kansas.

🚀 We are honored that the Artemis II crew recently met with members of the Senate Appropriations Committee including Senator Jerry Moran, to discuss their historic mission and the future of America’s leadership in space exploration.

🧑‍🚀 During the visit, the crew spoke with Claire Ludes, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at the Cosmosphere, about how Artemis II is inspiring the next generation of explorers, engineers and innovators.

🇺🇸 We’re also incredibly honored that the Artemis II crew was kind enough to sign several Cosmosphere posters, which are now on display inside our Hall of Space Museum. Be sure to stop by and see them for yourself during Memorial Day weekend as we celebrate the next chapter of human space exploration.

🌕 The excitement surrounding Artemis II continues to inspire future space leaders here at the Cosmosphere, and we look forward to welcoming the crew to Hutchinson in the future.

🛩️ It's time for F-104 Friday!

We have another look at the incredible work happening inside SpaceWorks at the Cosmosphere.

Our team has begun stripping layers of old paint from sections of the F-104’s wings and tail, revealing the aircraft underneath as restoration work continues. These before-and-after moments are an exciting step in bringing this historic jet back to life.

📲 Stay tuned for more updates as the restoration progresses and follow along on Cosmosphere socials for behind-the-scenes looks at the process.

⚾ 🚀 Last week, the Cosmosphere had the privilege of supporting Kansas City-area youth during the Kansas City Royals School Day at the K, at Kauffman Stadium, as part of a community outreach event focused on education, inspiration, and future opportunities.

Through hands-on engagement and conversations about space exploration, STEAM education, and career pathways, our team was honored to connect with students from across the region and share the excitement of discovery and innovation.

Part of our passion is to bring accessibility to STEAM education, and part of that is meeting students and the youth where they are. This experience brought a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with students, parents, and teachers that share our curiosity of the cosmos.

We are grateful for the opportunity to participate alongside organizations dedicated to empowering the next generation and helping students see that their futures can reach far beyond the horizon. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to KCTV5 for having us live on the air to speak about our involvement during the event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and helped make the day such a meaningful experience.
