Just a normal zine workshop at Teens at TAM.

Make zines. ✂️
Make art. 🎨
Recreate Willem Dafoe photoshoots for absolutely no reason.

You know. Art stuff.

Huge thanks to artist Josh Graham for leading this month’s zine workshop — and to our Teens at TAM crew for fully committing to the assignment. 😂

Operation: Hide Alexa Around TAM is officially underway. 🫡

How long will it take our Executive Director to notice tiny versions of herself mysteriously appearing throughout the museum?

Only time will tell.

We’ll keep you posted. 😂

A little round of applause for these prints. 👏🎨

We’re still not over all the incredible work that came out of Rollin’ on the River! From carved blocks to steamroller-sized prints, our artists brought some serious creativity to the pavement.

Thanks again to everyone who came out, got inky, made art, and rolled with us. 🧡

Which print caught your eye?

Art, golf, and a whole lot of community spirit. ⛳️🎨 What a day at Pinecrest!

This year’s Art of Golf brought our community together for a day of friendly competition, creativity, and fun—all in support of The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored a hole, donated, or helped make this year’s tournament possible. We’re especially grateful to our four tournament sponsors—D.L. Evans Bank, IEC, Charlie the Dog, and Mary Lynn Hartwell—for their generous support of TAM and the arts in our community.

And, of course, thank you to Pinecrest Golf Course!

Take a look back at some of our favorite moments from the day—and if you missed Art of Golf this year, consider this your invitation to join us next time. ⛳️🧡

Every swing, sponsorship, and show of support helps TAM continue bringing art experiences to our community. We’ll see you on the course next year!

September is in full swing at TAM! 🍂🎨

Now that everyone has (hopefully!) found their back-to-school groove and our brains have a little more room for fun beyond school schedules, practices, lunches, and homework—we’ve got plenty happening at TAM for the rest of the month!

This Saturday, September 19, join us for:

✨ Rollin’ on the River | 10 AM–2 PM
We’re celebrating Idaho Falls’ Day of Art with steamroller printing! Come watch art get made on a much bigger scale as we take printmaking out of the studio and into the street.

🏺 Mud Club | 10–11 AM

🎨 Beginning Watercolor | 11 AM–2 PM

🌀 Tweens on the Wheel | 12:30–2 PM

✂️ Teens at TAM: Zine Workshop | 6–8 PM
Current exhibiting artist Josh Graham will lead teens through creating their own zines in this hands-on workshop.

And there’s more to come later this month:

September 23 — Teens at TAM Leadership Discussion

September 25 | 6:30–8:30 PM — Makers Night

Whether you’re here to make something, learn something, meet other creatives, or watch a steamroller make art (because how often do you get to say that?), there’s a place for you at TAM this September. 🧡

See you at the museum!

In honor of Labor Day and all American laborers, TAM would like to share one of our most recent acquisitions to the Museum’s permanent collection! Welding Tire Rims (1933) by Margaret Bourke-White depicts a factory laborer in the middle of a thermal cut during the Great Depression. Bourke-White was known for her photographs of industrial capitalism, where she focused on capturing heavy machinery and the wage workers who operated it. During the Great Depression she also began to photograph the devastating effects of the crisis on laborers and families, which led to her eventual shift towards photojournalism.

Artists have always depicted forms of labor, from traditional wage workers to domestic labor, performers, and military personnel. If you would like to see more of Bourke-White’s work or artwork depicting labor, check out the online exhibit “Art of Labor” through TAM’s online permanent collection (link in bio). The online permanent collection was made possible with funds from the Luce Foundation Henry Luce Foundation, honoring Henry H. Luce, who hired Bourke-White on multiple occasions to work on Life and Time magazines! Happy
