The Phoenix Gold Mine was purchased in 1968 by our family of 4th generation of Colorado miners. In 1988, we decided to share our passion of prospecting, mining, and gold panning with others by offering tours.

🇺🇸 It's Memorial Day and our Centurion Train Ride and Dark Mine Tour is open for the season!

Spend the weekend exploring Colorado mining history underground, riding the rails, and escaping the heat in the mine. We’ll be running tours throughout the summer and look forward to seeing everyone up here!

Take a look at this vug filled with chalcopyrite, pyrite, and a variety of quartz crystals discovered by one of our guides the other day. Even with over a hundred years of history at the Phoenix Mine, we're still finding things that make this place ROCK!

We had the awesome opportunity to give a tour to our fellow Colorado tour mines as a part of this year's Tourist Mine Workshop, which was hosted just down the road at the Edgar Experimental Mine!

It was great to see everyone this year, and huge thank you to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Satey and the Edgar crew for putting the meeting and tour opportunities together!

While many search for gold at the end of the rainbow, miners knew the real treasure was underground. Legend says Tommy Knockers still knock in old mines, sometimes hiding gold for lucky visitors. Maybe today is your lucky day! ✨
