Northern Michigan Gallery

Northern Michigan Gallery The natural connection for those who settle in the north is a bond that is often unspoken. It is a special place for special people.

I studied art at Ohio University and the University of Toledo, majoring in figure drawing under the guidance of Diana Atti, an admired professor. I took up watercolor when my children were small. As they grew older and became more active in school and sports, the paints and brushes were put away. A short time ago, I retrieved my tools, and have been actively painting since. Thinking of family trip

s in Northern Michigan always brings a smile to my face. I cherish many memories of friends and family spending time together playing board games and cribbage, tubing the cold Sturgeon River, boating on Burt and Mullett Lakes, and, of course, winter snowmobiling. Eventually my husband, Kevin, and I moved "up north," making even more memories and great friends. Because of these warm memories and friends, my connection to Northern Michigan is very special. It seems natural that much of my work focuses on these connections.
