Location: Peninsula Park, (Thornberry off leash Dog Park),
West trail to East end Iowa River Power pedestrian crossing.
Fun piece!

It's Interesting how Artists/people come up with Ideas. Every piece has a Story.
I've been around all types of Artwork!? Painting, Printing, Sculpture, Crafts, Folk-art, Dada, No-Art, it goes on and on. Happenings, Outsider Art, Ethnographic, African, Pre-Columbian, Native American, Asian, Ceramic: wood-fire/gas-fire/electric-fire, Metals: casting/welding.
I was Lucky enough to start working at the University of Iowa Museum of Art, October 1, 1968, Museum open to the public May 1969-2002. Being able to display, build cases, bases matting/framing, for works of art a very rewarding.
I have met Artist's, Directors, Curators, Collectors, Scholars,
Writers, some good, some not so good, all a learning experience.
Having the School of Art and Art History next to the UI Museum of Art, open another part of a learning experience. How Art is put together, the process, from making Art to learning about it.
The University of Iowa and Iowa City where Artwork is all around you everywhere. Nice to know something about it.
The University of Iowa now the Stanley Museum of Art has a wonderful collection. There really is something for everyone.

I thought I would post some of the Sculpture that I have been restoring/working on with the City of Iowa Citys Public Art Collection.

We started with the Kenneth Snelson Sculpture that is now setting on 12 concrete columns at the entrance to the Riverfront Crossing Park located at the South-end of Clinton Street.
Artist: Kenneth Snelson
Title: Four Module Form II, 1968
Medium: Spun-cast aluminum & Stainless Steel
Previous location, Terrill Mill Park across from Mayflower apartments on N. Dubuque St.
This is part of the of the City of Iowa Citys ongoing program of taking care of their collection of Public Sculpture.
I'll post more of the collection during the next few weeks.
