Congratulations to Tyler Hilton and the Great Expectations III NHRA Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster crew for qualifying on the pole of the Redding Motorsports Park Thunder Under The Lites event with a 5.834 @ 255.92 blast, and to Pete Kaiser and the KFR Top Fuel Dragster team for winning the event with a 5.964 @ 246.17 over Hilton's tire smoking 6.32 @ 253.26 in the final round.

For the 25th time, Famoso Dragstrip hosted the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion in the year 2016 and brought another Nitro fueled season to a close. As expected, the top two qualifiers survived all challengers to arrive in the final round for all the glory. For the second time in three years, Tony Bartone and the Bartone Bros. Racing crew took it all the way to the winner circle. TBone's blistering 5.600 @ 247.25 was more than enough for Jim Murphy's 9.519 @ 74.74.

Digging out from deep in the qualifying ladder, both contenders for the 15th California Hot Rod Reunion final round were seasoned veterans, showing the field how they became champions. At the drop of the tree, Jim Murphy led the way to the quarter mile mark, and never gave it up. Murphy's 5.989 @ 244.69 was more than enough for Jack Harris piston eating 6.145 @ 201.92, handing the WW2 team the 2006 Reunion trophy.

Nineteen Ninety Six would mark the 5th edition of the California Hot Rod Reunion at the famed Famoso Dragstrip. Although the action on the track was fire hot all weekend, Mother Nature had other plans for the final round. Number one qualifier Paul Romine was set to meet number two qualifier Jim Murphy when the skies opened. Officials made the call to slip the earnings and hand the trophy to the low qualifier.

Congratulations to the Great Expectations III NHRA Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster crew for landing Tyler Hilton in the number one qualifying spot during the 55th Nightfire Nationals with a 5.687 @ 256.75 pass, and for winning an unprecedented fourth consecutive Nightfire at Firebird Raceway with a 5.782 @ 256.80 over Pete Kasier's tire spinning 11.891 @ 69.55.

Congratulations to Tyler Hilton and the Great Expectations III NHRA Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster team for taking the pole during the inaugural Great American Hot Rod Classic at Srca Dragstrip with a 5.728 @ 255 qualifying pass, as well as winning the event with a 5.805 @ 259.51 over Michael Hilton's 9.261 @ 85.75.

From one championship to another, the Bartone Bros. Racing crew made a pit stop at Firebird Raceway for more domination. Blasting to a mind melting 5.664 @ 255.63 in qualifying, Tony Bartone laid down the foundation to more trouble for the competition. In the final round, Jim Murphy's game 5.77 @ 240.94 couldn't hold a candle to Bartone's 5.69 @ 261.32, claiming the victory at the 2016 Nightfire Nationals, the team's third in a row.
