From the second qualifying spot, Adam Sorokin chopped down the christmas tree three times during the 2016 Holley National Hot Rod Reunion to bring home the win for the Champion Speed Shop team. Both final round contenders had to do a bit of driving, with Sorokin's 5.762 @ 237.38 prevailing over Jim Murphy's 6.376 @ 158.87.

When June blew onto the 2006 calendar, so did the rain at Beech Bend Raceway Park. Washing out Q3 and E3 of the 4th Holley National Hot Rod Reunion, the teams took things into their own hands. Sean Bellemeur unofficially edged out Adam Sorokin in the golf cart finals, in the rain. Officially concluding in Bakersfield at the season ending Reunion during Q2, with dual tire smoking passes, the High Speed Motorsports' 6.838 @ 172.84 was just enough for Champion Speed Shop's 7.070 @ 246.71, giving Bellemeur three Bowling Green wins in a row.

Congratulations to Tyler Hilton and the Great Expectations III NHRA Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster team for becoming the 5th driver to enter into the Stith Printing Inc. Legends of Nitro 265mph Club, during the 2026 Famoso Dragstrip March Meet, with a 265.09mph blast, while winning the 68th March Meet!

Congratulations to Tyler Hester and the Overtime Special Front Engine Top Fuel team for blasting to the number one qualifying spot with a 5.679 @ 224.66 pass during qualifying for the 2026 Famoso Dragstrip March Meet, and to the Great Expectations III NHRA Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster team with Tyler Hilton at the controls for the 5.714 @ 265.09 winning run in the finals over his uncle Michael Hilton's redlighting 5.92 @ 197.41.

From deep into the qualifying standings for the 2016 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series March Meet, Team Craig brought their AA game on Sunday, and took out all the hitters. Jim Young, Tony Bartone, and Adam Sorokin weren't able to best Rick Williamson on the Famoso Dragstrip quarter mile. Rick's 5.572 @ 245.27 pass got him into the winner circle over Adam's wheelstanding 6.709 @ 170.45.

Starting off the season on the wrong foot, the 2006 Goodguys March Meet was cancelled due to rain, a first in 47 years. During the one and only dry qualifying session, Jim Murphy put the WW2 squad on the pole with a game 5.947 @ 238.72 pass. Running the only 5s in the first round, Brad Thompson and Jim Murphy were the favorites to go four rounds. Favorites or not, when the Famoso Dragstrip track surface began to weep just before round two, and more rain on the way, the event was called with no reschedule date set.

Rolling into the 1996 Goodguys March Meet with a brand new ride, Paul Romine didn't fair too well in qualifying, narrowly making the show in 6th place. Sunday was a completely different story. After recording quick time and top speed of the event in the second round, Romine rolled into the Famoso Dragstrip winner circle with 6.26 @ 227.33 against a tire smoking Scott Hesselgrave.

At the closing of the 2016 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series season, the Bartone Bros. Racing team put a cap on a dominating three season championship stretch. Tony Bartone would join the likes of Jim Murphy, being the only drivers to win three Nostalgia Top Fuel points championships in a row, or otherwise.
