One of our Lynnfield projects is featured in the Boston Design Guide.

With the help of Cummings Architects, the town of Lynnfield, and a longtime resident, Federal Era charm lives on in its downtown center, with the preservation of the 1785 Reverend John Mottey House. Despite this happy story of a community coming together, there was a point in time where this might n...

The Alexander Knight House team had a lovely time with the Massachusetts Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution this past weekend, where they were honored with the Historic Preservation Recognition Award for the hours they had volunteered on the house. The luncheon honored several other people and projects in Massachusetts. As always, it is great to see continued recognition for this special project and the love that went in to it. Pictured with the Knight House team are DAR members Kimberly Whitworth, Massachusetts DAR Historic Preservation Chair and Gail Terry, the Massachusetts DAR State Regent. Thank you DAR! The next clothing items we have to show you are two beautiful shifts for Alexander Knight's youngest children, born before and at the end of 1657 respectively. These gender neutral garments were also hand stitched by Johanna Tower. The larger shift, for the toddler, could have been worn with or without a collar called a "partlet". Aren't they adorable?

We're so excited to show you photos of the beautiful clothing and accessories made by Johanna Tower for Mr. Knight and his family! The first items are two hand-stitched aprons, one for his wife Anne and one for his second eldest daughter Sarah, who would have been about 10 years old in 1657. The size of the aprons are based on average heights of people during that time period: 5'1" for a grown woman and 4'2" for a female child. More photos to come the rest of this week!
