“Caught in the Consequences” brings together photographic works that reflect on overfishing, plastic pollution, and the fragile relationship between human life and marine ecosystems. Moving between documentary observation and constructed self-portraiture, these images approach environmental damage as something lived, embodied, and ongoing. In Masquerade of Consequences, the body becomes a site of entanglement, exposing the illusion that humans exist separately from nature. In The Last Haul, fishermen in northern Iran carry out a ritual shaped by labor, memory, and survival, even as environmental change and modernization place that tradition under pressure. Together, these works ask viewers to confront the ecological consequences of human action and the fragile balance between tradition, extraction, and loss.
