HJ East Garden Museum

We have a temporary display of True Father's Fishing activities, primarily focusing on the Hudson River and Gloucester, MA, and the very beginnings of what is now a vast "Ocean Providence". You can see equipment that Father used and made himself by hand and models of some of the great fish that were caught on the East Coast.

Also, there are some exciting testimonies from early members who worked alongside Father during those early days.

The timeline is up!

Our wonderful Media Dept has created a timeline of True Parents' life in pictures, quotations and stories. Be prepared to spend some time reading and contemplating our rich history from 1920 right up to the present day.

When you visit the museum, you can see the recently renovated bedroom of Heung Jin Moon, featuring replicas of his artwork and the actual Washington Times newspaper vending machine that he was so proud of. Few people know that he was also very fond of cats, and had up to a dozen strays living in his room at one time.

Now you can do a virtual prayer at the East Garden Holy Rock, where True Parents and often their children spent many hours in deep conversation with our Heavenly Parent.

Some of you will remember the days when we began every Sunday with Pledge service at 5 am, and if you lived near New York, you may have rushed over to Belvedere to hear True Father speak at 6 am.

These photos show the small prayer room at East Garden where True Parents would hold this prayer every Sunday with their children.

After the prayer, Father would stay in the room and either talk more to his children or pray on his own. Then, a few minutes before 6, he would go downstairs, get in the car and drive straight to Belvedere to give his message.

Members of the 1975 Foreign Missionary group came to East Garden and were treated to a guided tour with a special, temporary display of the original reports sent from their countries.

Most of them had taken on the mission while only in their late teens and twenties, and were seeing these reports for the first time in over 40 years.

True Parents lived in the "Old House" from 1973 to 1987, which was an extremely busy time for their providential work in America. They were also expanding as a family. Mother gave birth to six children during this period. During her visit last year, she visited the newly restored baby's room where she would take care of her new born children.
