The Legends of Tennessee Music Museum

The Legends of Tennessee Music Museum Built in 1903 as a free library, the Legends of Tennessee Music Museum now hold the rich history of Jackson and West Tennessee's musical past.

The Legends Museum offers an experience where rock music began and the stories of the people who brought it to life, including Carl Perkins, Eddy Arnold, Isaac Tigrett, LOLO, and Sonny Boy Williamson. Highlighting the lives of artists like Carl Perkins, Eddy Arnold, Sonny Boy Williamson, and today's artists Jonathan Singleton and Lauren "LOLO" Pritchard. The museum documents the beginning of rock'n'roll and Jackson's unique rockabilly sound.

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Wink Martindale, a beloved television personality and game show host whose warmth, charm, and iconic voice touched generations of viewers.

With deep gratitude, we remember his decades of entertainment, from Tic-Tac-Dough to countless other appearances that brought joy into millions of homes. Wink’s legacy is one of joy, laughter, and genuine connection.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans around the world. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

He was involved in more than 20 game shows, most memorably as the host of “Gambit” and “Tic-Tac-Dough” in the 1970s and ’80s.

We are closed the month of January for repairs and renovations. Through a grant from the Tennessee State Museum, more of our windows will be replaced. We want to say a special thank you to the Legends of Tennessee Music Museum board for facilitating the grant process. During this time, we are also building out our new gallery space. Stay tuned for more details on our grand reopening and new exhibitions coming in February 2025.
