Nearly 97 years old, McKee Botanical Garden remains one of Florida’s most beautiful historic attractions. Originally opened in 1929 as McKee Jungle Gardens, the park has transformed into a tropical oasis filled with exotic plants, waterfalls, and winding pathways.

This year, the garden is showcasing “Florigami in the Garden,” a unique outdoor exhibit featuring large origami-inspired metal sculptures placed throughout the landscape. The exhibit blends art and nature, giving visitors a colorful and creative experience while celebrating the beauty of the natural world.

Perched along the shoreline of Newport, Rhode island; Fort Adams was built to guard the entrance to Narrangsett Bay, a Key strategic harbor. Construction began in 1824 after lessons learned from the War of 1812, and the fort was largely completed in 1857.

As the largest coastal fortification in the United States at the time, Fort Adams played an important role in National Defense by deterring naval attacks and protecting vital shipping routes. although it never saw battle, it's presence strengthened coastal security and later served as a military training site. Today, it stands as a historic landmark within Fort Adams State Park.
