Art Presence Art Center is a collective gallery with artist members from throughout the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. Art Presence hosts the popular annual show and sale of the Artists Workshop every August. We also present an exciting open show every October, an exhibition of artwork from an open call for our October Creative Challenge with a new theme each year, and "Holiday Treasures," a two

month show of affordable art by our members for holiday gift giving each year. Art Presence Art Center regular gallery hours are 11am - 5pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Next Saturday, gather with us to enjoy a creative time in a truly inspiring setting!

Art Presence is partnering with Hummingbird Estate for our Creative W**e series on September 13th, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese stitching and embroidery technique that translates to “little stabs,” while boro refers to the tattered, heavily patched, and repeatedly mended textiles that result from the continuous use of those stitches over time.

In this class, we will make a boro-style bookmark using simple stitching in basic sashiko patterns.

All materials and tools will be provided, including a variety of fabrics for you to choose from. Feel free to bring your own as well.

Beginners are welcome, though it is helpful to know how to thread a needle. Instructions, ideas, and creative brainstorming will be provided for a variety of skill levels.

Above all, we will have fun stretching our imagination and transforming scraps into a beautiful bookmark for you to take home

Your instructor will be Miranda Caroligne Burns, author of Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies, San Francisco boutique owner, and current artist at Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville, Oregon.

Only a few spots (and days) left!

Enrollment in our After School Art Club is limited to 15 students for each club, and we are nearly full. We also start *THIS* Thursday!

The After School Art Club gathers from 3pm-4pm in the classroom at Art Presence Art Center, located next door to Jacksonville City Hall at 206 N 5th Street in Jacksonville.

With the guidance of our teacher, your child will express their creativity through a variety of imaginative art projects.

You may register for either Thursdays or Fridays, and thanks to generous support from our community, we are pleased to offer enrollment for only $10 for the entire Fall club session.

Every month at Art Presence we feature one of our members.

September's Member Artist is Brenda Mills Brannan, and today is your chance to meet her! Join us for our monthly art reception from 1pm to 4pm to experience amazing art and meet the artists behind the creations.

Brenda is a therapist who has used art with her clients, and as her own therapy. She's found it to be a continuous process of self discovery and joy. Painting primarily with water media, she loves its transparent quality, vibrant colors and unpredictability. Brenda's background in design and illustration focuses on detail, while using mixed media allows her to combine detail with a more spontaneous results.

Our next Messy Hands class is on Saturday, September 12th!

Join Miranda Caroligne from 1:30pm to 3pm to create an adorable luminary.

Choose from a variety of little house templates. Keep it simple Nordic-style, or decorate as you like.
You can even get fancy and create "stained glass" windows!
All materials and tools are provided. Beginners are welcome.
