The mission of the North American Bison Discovery Center, dba, National Buffalo Museum, is to advocate for the restoration of the North American bison through education and outreach. In addition to 7 galleries within the museum, the National Buffalo Museum, also maintains a live exhibit of a bison herd. The museum highlights the rancher's role in bison restoration, and in this way promotes the com
mercial bison industry. The National Buffalo Museum and bison herd are located at the Frontier Village, near the intersection of Highway 281 and Interstate 94 (exit 258). The museum also includes a museum store containing an amazing assortment of unique bison-themed items. We are nonprofit organization that derives operating funds from memberships, museum admission, museum store income, and charitable gaming. Individual contributions are especially important. We depend heavily on the generosity of donors to develop programs, exhibits, and maintain our facilities. Please visit the museum during your stay in Jamestown, and, if your circumstances permit, consider lending your support.
