🇺🇸 Meet One of the Historians Bringing the Past to Life at Vintage Voices Through Time! 🇺🇸

We are thrilled to introduce Pete Skelly, one of our amazing historians who will be sharing their knowledge, stories, and passion for history at Vintage Voices Through Time on September 24.
Pete will be discussing Why Lincoln was visiting Wisconsin.

Pete’s connection to Wisconsin history—and especially Abraham Lincoln—runs deep.
A 1976 graduate of UW–Whitewater with degrees in History and Political Science, Pete was the founding president of the Rock County Civil War Round Table and has served multiple terms as President of the Lincoln Fellowship of Wisconsin.
In 2009, Governor Jim Doyle appointed Pete to the Wisconsin Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, where he served as Chairman of the Markers and Memorial Committee. Among his accomplishments was researching and developing the Lincoln Heritage Trail, documenting Lincoln’s path through Wisconsin during his 1832 Black Hawk War service and his 1859 speaking tour.

Pete has spent years sharing Wisconsin's stories with audiences across the state, presenting on Lincoln in Wisconsin, the 13th Wisconsin Infantry, and Brother Joseph Dutton at organizations including the Kenosha Civil War Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum, Rock County Historical Society, Madison History Round Table, and numerous community organizations.

We are excited to have Pete join three other remarkable historians for an evening filled with fascinating stories, characters, and connections to our past.
