Janesville Art League

Janesville Art League The Janesville Art League is an active non-profit organization open to artists and art supporters to create and enjoy art in our community.

The Janesville Art League (JAL) was established in 1894. We strive to further community interest in art, develop appreciation and recognition of artists, and view, study, display, collect and conserve works of art. The club is open to anyone with a desire to support the arts, and have art enhance their lives. The club maintains a rotating display of members' art work in the Elinor Mills Gallery at

the Woman's Club, in the gallery/multi-purpose room at the Janesville Performing Arts Center, on the display floors at Marling Lumber and HomeWorks, and on a gallery wall at SSM Health St Mary's hospital in Janesville. JAL also provides several "pop up" art shows throughout the year and one to two field trips per year that are art related. Monthly meetings featuring an art related program are held at the Janesville Woman's Club building from September through May on the third Thursday of the month. Mission Statement:
The mission of the Janesville Art League is to preserve and share its gallery and permanent art collection and to support and encourage the creation and appreciation of all forms of the visual arts by involving its members and community through educational programs and trips, scholarships, art shows, exhibits, and fellowship.

Hello Members!
Our current display on the gallery wall at Raven's Wish will be coming to an end soon and we will be putting up our next two month show. The current exhibit will be on display through Dec. 28th featuring the works of Deb Hall, Kurt Buggs, Rebecca Gavney Driscoll, Tom Lieder, Stephanie Lochetta and Woody Olsen. Please stop in at the gallery and see this showing if you haven't already!
The art will be changed out on Monday, Dec. 29th. The pick up and drop off time is 10am to noon. If you want to display work in the next exhibit, please contact Deanna Sorenson at [email protected] or 608-201-8217 to sign up. So far, Katie Swanson and Karen Limke are planning to be featured. Please sign up by Dec. 21st (Sunday) so we can determine how many pieces can be displayed and will send you the needed paperwork/info.

Hey Friends, don't forget this Thursday is the Reception for the annual Holiday Art Show & Sale! Our members have submitted their best works of art for this judged show. Awards will be presented that evening by the judge, local artist Larry Schultz!
