Project-The Old Mill: Post #4
Today's history starts during the Civil War. In 1849 the mill was sold to John Sevier Trotter. It was used to manufacture uniforms for Union soldiers. In 1861 the 3rd floor of the mill was used as a hospital. In 1871 the 1st of 3 occasions where the wheel washed away due to flooding in the area.

As for the painting, the 1st Pic shows some of the background details, adding color near the river. Pic 2, additional details around windows and background. Pic 3, windows panes and the waterfall is added. Finally Pic 4, the roof color is changed, pillars are added under the mill, and clap board details added to the side of the mill.

Well, I've been told that I need to add some critters to my paintings. I keep saying that I could never draw. Even in school. I got some books and started trying to teach.myself.
While taking a walk this evening, I came across a cardinal. Took some pictures and now I am making my first attempt to draw it free hand. Here is the head. Still working on the body.
